Looking for an Extractor Fan Installer in Darlington?
Today’s installation was for a customer who is having issues with condensation in the bathroom particularly when showering as the bathroom has just been converted and a power shower installed.
There is two types of fan I usually install, either a wall mounted unit or a in-line loft mounted fan. This loft mounted unit is always the one I’d recommend if it’s possible due the suction rate being more than double and it enables us to mount the vent directly above the shower head.
With this install the customer had a pull switch for the light and I recommend disconnecting that and putting a 2 gang light switch outside the bathroom, one controlling the center light and the other for the fan.
This is the best method in my opinion as you don’t always need both on together and when the fan is switched off we generally have the overrun on for around 15 mins which is the recommended time unless the client says otherwise.
If it wasn’t an option to put the switch outside due to damage I’d normally put an additional pull cord in with neon light on so that you know whether the fan is in operation.
