We’ve recently completed multiple rewires over the Christmas period and into the new year. Initially these projects were set to be smaller scale works.
When quoting works whilst on site, I’ll check the install over very briefly looking for anything to tell me the age or condition of the wiring.
If I feel like it’s of a poor standard or is well below the current criteria which is deemed safe I’ll discuss with the customer that’s it’s best we carry out a full electrical safety check first before we carry out any works.
The reason for this is we will then know what, if any remedial works are required, based on this, they can then make an informed decision. The last thing you’d want is to add new wiring to unsafe existing wiring.
